August 2013 Update
So after the nutcracker I did, I headed over to the next round of the national points series at Margam park, Wales. It was a great course this year that was new for this year. During practice I felt really good on the bike and felt good up the climbs. Come race day I did a good warm up, kept cool out of the sun and then the start was put back after someone had crashed on the course, it was a long delay.
June 2013 Update
Well it's been a while since I updated and a lot has happened. First of all there was the second round of the British mountain bike series help down in Cornwall. It was a rocky course with a few small drags but nothing much. I struggled from the gun and was loosing places and then had a silly little crash on the 3rd lap but it didn't really make a difference. I can in down in 10th which after round one I was pretty annoyed with.
Midlands XC Round 2 Report
Sorry for the long delay of getting this update on after last weekends midlands xc round 2 held at Birchall golf course. This year they changed the format for the youths to short sprints on a 1km course. there was two heats and a final. I wasn't a great fan of this but it was the same for everyone and it was a race to be won.
British Mountain Bike Series Round 1
What a weekend, cold, and a very snowy Sherwood Pines for the First round of the British Mountain Bike series. We arrived there on the Friday night where the snow wasn't bad on the ground but it then started to snow and continued through the night.
Training Camp Update
Well, as I said in my previous blog, I was going to Spain with dirtwheels cycles for a week. I've been back for just over a week now, with some great tan lines. Also I got some great training in the mountains. We rode every day with Wednesday as a short cafe ride. The weather was great to us with the temperature being in 20's, we rode as a unit on the flat and then on the climbs we kicked on.
City Cross Race Report
Just thought I'd let you all know about my race at the weekends city cross. I went up on the Saturday to Dirtwheels cycles and then on to stop and Neil Hendry's which is always great! On the Saturday night we all went out for a meal which was great and then the next morning I woke up for race day.
First race of 2013!
Yesterday was my first mountain bike race of the season. I know I have started the season early but I needed to get a race in my legs before I head out to Spain for a week with Dirtwheels cycles, training. The week leading up to this I have been living with Dan Fleeman and Sarah Reynolds, which has been absolutely brilliant and learned a lot of stuff to take forward. Going into the race I was tired after riding in the week. My plan was to win like every other race and make it a hard race. I liked the course a lot and felt that I would do ok on it.
Roll on 2013!
I was approached by a team from Yorkshire, Dirt Wheels Cycles, who are a friendly bike shop in Otley. Who for 2013 were hoping to make there team bigger and better for 2013, and I was more than happy to become a part of it. They have now got a full Junior road squad for next season with some great riders. And I shall be flying the colours in some Youth road races, but mainly the National Mountain bike series and also the Midland xc series to.
