January Race Updates
I've had two races since my last update, the first one to come up was the last round of the Cyclocross National Trophy held in Derby. I went up to Yorkshire the day before to meet up with my new team and have a photo shoot with cycling weekly for an article on the team which will be published soon. We did a bit over 2 hours in the hills which was enjoyable. I then headed home to rest up for the National the next day. I went to Derby with the hope of improving on a 5th place.
Jan 2013 Update
The last 3 weeks have been quite busy with a race every weekend. This was the plan that we decided to do all the way up to the British Cyclocross National Championships which is now just over a week away. I had my first big race of the winter three weeks ago, this was the 5th round of the series and was being held at Shrewsbury Leisure Centre and was a technical course with quite a bit of running and was slippery come race day. I was called up to the start line on the back row which was expected as I hadn't done any of the National series that year.
Jakes December Update
Since my October update a lot has happened with races. I have had a few wins in cyclocross races with a win at the second round of the Rapha Supercross Series. Then I switched to a cyclocross bike again as I felt my back was improving, I rode my first race on it at Graffham water and won in slippery conditions which was great for me and a good confidence boost to see that my back is improving. The next day I rode at the lincolnshire round, Woodhall spa, which is a great course through the woods. I rode the first lap in front to try and get a gap but my legs wasn't as sharp as I had hoped.
